The spectacular Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017 was high on celeb quotient. Gracing the ramp for designer Sanjukta Dutta's “Mekhela Chador”, Bollywood diva Preity Zinta looked stunning in a black and red sari.

Inspired by Goddess Durga and traditional Assamese motifs like Singkhap (lion), Moourah (peacock), Pokhila (butterfly) the ethnic designs reflected true communal harmony and serenity of Assam.

With plunging necklines and beautiful sequined gowns, Falguni and Shane Peacock collection at Lakmé Fashion Week made a glitzy statement. Sheer coats draped loosely over slit gowns and mini dresses put the glam factor in focus.
The makeup was bold emphasizing the features. I loved the striking dark lip colors! The hair was sleek and tied back tightly or pulled back! My favorite look from the collection was showstopper Bipasha Basu’s pastel embellished gown with floor touching cape.
Urvashi Rautela sets temperature soaring as she walks the runway for Sonal Verma at Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2017. She flaunts those toned midriff in a navy bralette and wide embroidered pants by Rava Avis. Sonal Verma's line Abacus is a clever mix of separates. Red and white striped coat, gather skirt over pants rules the ramp.
Gaurang Shah’s collection at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/ Resort 2017 about authentic Indian wear. There were sarees, salwars, ghararas and anarkalis. The whole collection was created by muslin fabric and was in white with gold border. Silver sequins was seen here and there.
Famous model Carol Gracias walked the ramp for the first time after the birth of her baby. She wore a beautiful white saree with huge gold border.
Bollywood actress Tabu was the showstopper and she looked mesmerizing in the floor length white anarkali with gold border. The outfit looked royal and magnificent!

Upcycling by Amit Aggarwal is a collection of recycled materials at Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2017. The collection draws inspiration from unconventional industrial materials. Bindi sheets, drinking straws and poly bags forms the waste. Wine, rust, khaki, mustard, ink blue and metallics completes the colour story. The models walks the ramp in disco leggings, glitzy bodysuits offset by boxy silhouettes.

The intricacy and beauty of the Bidri art form was an influential aspect for the vibrant collection presented by Sashi Vangapalli for her label ‘Mugdha Art Studio’, at the 6Degree Studio during Lakmé Fashion Week, Summer/Resort 2017.Bollywood’s glam goddess, Sushmita Sen walks in a stunning piece from Hyderabad’s Sashi Vangapalli on the final day at the Lakme Fashion Week S|R 2017.

Making an imperial appearance, Sushmita Sen enthralled the spectators by her perky strides down the runway in a majestic purple gown. It had a structured, embellished peplum bodice with crafted sleeves and a cascading asymmetrical trail with which she charmed the viewers.
The primal focus of the collection was the women for whom the garments were designed. Sashi Vangapalli had in mind modern Indian women deeply rooted to their traditional roots. Bidri art form gave meaning to this thought process. The Bidri Art Form, which originated in the town of Bidar, is a mix of the Persian, Arabic and Turkish art forms, with the most important local aspect of utilizing soil to make the Bidri ware. She associated the use of soil to the traditions imbibed in her women.

Disha Patani looked no less than a bride in designer Jayanti Reddy's summer resort collection at Lakme Fashion Week 2017. She graced the runway in an embroidered ink blue lehenga with matching choli. The ivory dupatta with tassels and mirrors completes the look. Layered palazzos, tiered skirts and romantic saris in natural dyes comprises the collection.

The new edition of the Lakme Fashion Week is here and it's opened with a bang — on a luxury cruise ship no less. Kicking off the Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017 in style on January 20 was designer Monisha Jaising, who has been making waves globally, especially thanks to Deepika Padukone who has worn her designs on international red-carpet events with élan. Jaising's collection got an additional exotic appeal against a backdrop of the vast Arabian Sea, as the models showcased her designs on a luxury ship! The magnificent opening show by Jaising was hosted on a royal cruise of Costa Cruises’ neoClassica. Models took the runway in a breezy setting during sunset in presence of uniformed sailors and even heavy security.
